Robotic Coverage Control Conquers Sound Ordinances at Zomerparkfeest

A PK Sound T8 robotic system deployment at Zomerparkfeest – the free Dutch festival that draws nearly 90,000 people to Venlo's Julianapark each summer – earned a feature in AV & Entertainment Magazine for its handling of the event's famously demanding sound ordinances.

Deployed through a collaboration between VenloTech, AVScape, and Clarity · Design & Sonic Optimization, with VenloTech owner Rick van Ulft serving as system technician and team leader, the T8 system faced a challenge familiar to urban festivals across Europe: strict noise limits at the perimeter, and audiences who expect full-impact sound inside it.

As the AV & Entertainment feature noted, the system met the requirements with little difficulty – with the T8's ability to robotically adjust horizontal dispersion proving to be the deciding factor for the event.

PK's patented Multi-Axis Robotics allow each module's horizontal coverage to be varied across more than 40 symmetric and asymmetric settings – and adjusted remotely, in real time, while the arrays are in the air. For the Zomerparkfeest team, that meant shaping the soundfield to the park's audience areas precisely, keeping energy off the surrounding streets and homes.

The deployment reflects the momentum of PK's Dutch partner network, with AVScape investing in T8 technology through Central EU distributor FACE in 2024 and deployments spanning from club installs to the country's largest free festival.
